hello

I have lived in Edinburgh for six years and have had an eventful career to date. I have written for a wide range of publications ranging from The Daily Telegraph and The Sunday Herald to Practical Caravan (without owning a caravan) and The Oldie (without being old). I’ve also worked for publishers, communication agencies, miscellaneous businesses and government organisations.

Last year, I set up the West Port Book Festival in Edinburgh which provides free bookish events in a variety of local venues, and I continue with this project on a pro bono basis.

I published 20Something: the Ultimate Survival Guide when I was 24 with help from Ian Hislop and Jamie Cullum, I’ve worked and slept in a Parisian bookshop infested by bed bugs and I’ve trained horses in Australia, at some risk to my health.

I believe that a writer should be creative, open-minded, lucid, organised – and always interested.
